Less Appreciated Types of Art

Art is a very subjective subject. What is art to some men and women is not art to others. Consequently, keeping that statement in mind, many varied art forms are in existence. In addition to the widely accepted kinds of art, like painting, sculpting, drawing and more, there are some kinds that exist as art much less commonly and to a smaller group of people. These may be photography or decorative art glass.

With photography, one widespread thought is that anyone is able to take a picture. Some do not think any creativity or talent are requirements to capturing a photo. I do not believe this to be true. To take a fantastic picture with the latest technology, one will need to have a professional camera. This kind of camera will possess a high level of megapixels which give the photograph a better quality. It also will take skill to make use of such an advanced camera. Then, most importantly, to be a great photographer, you need to possess a good eye. This implies understanding how to frame a photo and make it special. This also implies taking a picture that has suitable composition. If photographing individuals, one needs to be able to capture emotion and special moments. All these amongst other traits are what make a great photographer an artist when compared to a person taking pictures leisurely.

One more art that might be under appreciated is glasswork. To some, this art form is simply printed glass dinnerware. On the other hand, if a person genuinely is aware of how art glass is formed, then they acknowledge it as art. Whether the glass piece is molded, pressed or produced employing glassblowing, this art form will take skill of the trade paired with creativity. Consequently, art glass is also a type of art.

Even though there are widely accepted styles of art, what is regarded as art and what is not differs from individual to individual. This subject is quite subjective and what one individual might find breathtaking, another might look at as junk.
