Art is an extremely subjective topic. What is art to some people is not viewed as art to other people. Therefore, keeping that statement in mind, numerous varied art forms exist. In addition to the widely accepted types of art, like sculpting, painting, drawing and much more, there are some types that exist as art much less commonly and to a smaller group of people. These may be photography or decorative art glass.
When it comes to photography, one widespread idea is that anybody is able to take a picture. Some do not believe any talent or creativity are requirements to capturing a photo. I do not think this is correct. To take a great picture with the latest technology, one will need to have a professional camera. This kind of camera will possess a high level of megapixels which give the picture a better quality. It also requires skill to utilize such a sophisticated camera. Then, most importantly, to be an excellent photographer, you must have a very good eye. This implies knowing how to frame a photo and make it unique. This also implies taking a picture that has proper composition. If photographing people, one needs to be able to capture emotion and unique moments. All these amongst other traits are what make an excellent photographer an artist when compared to somebody taking photographs leisurely.
Yet another form of art that may possibly be under appreciated is glasswork. To some, this art form is simply printed glass dinnerware. On the other hand, if somebody actually knows how art glass is formed, then they acknowledge it as an art form. Whether the glass piece is molded, pressed or produced using glassblowing, this art form requires skill of the trade paired with creativity. For that reason, art glass is also a type of art.
Even though there are widely accepted forms of art, what is thought to be art and what is not differs from person to person. This topic is very subjective and what one person may find breathtaking, another might look at as junk.
